89 Andrew - Notes from Kristine Hi, I have a few thoughts but it’s tough not being there. 1) I think he’s really hurting from trauma and shame. 2) I think the main idea is to get him to talk A LOT. What is he getting out of drinking? Why is he doing it? If he can realize on his OWN, not someone telling him, that he is avoiding feeling, it may provide some insights. 3) His pain and trauma aren’t that much in the big picture, unless there are things we don’t know about (a question at some point). The longer this goes on, the more he will have to process. 4) This might be too much for tomorrow, but maybe over the next couple of weeks, you can talk more. 5) He has said many times that he has a problem with alcohol. It seems highly likely that alcohol will lead to opioid use with him. 6) We talked several times about Ireland being an alternative to rehab for him. This is his chance to heal if he stops drinking. 7) We are not trying to control him; we are here to help him. 8) Please don’t make any commitments about paying for Bellingham. We need to think and talk. I’m a bit worried about Will and Renee. A ramble, like you asked for. Good luck. Hoping you have a good talk.
